Myitkyina: The capital of Kachin state.


Main attraction:

Myitkyina: Myitson, 45 km north (about 2 hours drive) where May Kha and Malikha river join to form the mighty Aye Yar Wady river; Carain Naw, a famous viewpoint by the Aye Yar Wady river in Myit Kyina; and Praying mountain, famous for the Baptists.
 


Other attractions:

Indaw Gyi: The biggest wetland eco-system in South East Asia. It is 172 km north west of Myit Kyina is the best place for bird watchers. One night stop at the village is sufficient to do the bird watching.



Putao:
3 nights and 4 days trip could cover this small town Putao and the surrounding area i.e. (Putao – Machan Baw – Namkhan – Putao). Suitable for the amateur trekkers. This trip gives opportunity to observe the Jing Phaw, Lisu, Rawan and Kanti Shan tribes.
Trip Details:, 1 hr drive from Putao to Machan Baw and one night stop there. Next day, 11 km soft trekking from Machanbaw to Namkhan. One night stop in Namkhan. And by car from Namkhan to Putao. Night stop in Putao.

 

Mt. Phonkan Razi (3,505 meter): Situated in Putao township. Among the snow capped – except in August and September- mountains in Myanmar, it is the easiest one to climb.

The climb up will takes about 7 days, the climb down will take about 5 days. From Yangon to Putao and back to Yangon will take about another 5 days. Altogether, it will take about 17 days to 21 days for the whole trip.

This trip is suitable for the orchid and bird lovers.
